Why is It Palm Sunday?

So why is it called Palm Sunday?…
Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter.
Some Christians observe this as the day when Jesus returned to Jerusalem.
It’s known as Palm Sunday because a large crowd of people in the city spread out palm branches on the ground before him as a sign of their belief and support as our True King.
Jesus’ ministry was filled with examples of humble service and attempts to not draw attention to Himself.
He also taught this to His followers.
Another important fact about this day is that Jesus arrived not on a mighty horse, but on a humble donkey.
Again, His humility foreshadowed the sacrifice He was about to make – not a conquering king, but a suffering servant.
This is one day where his followers loudly proclaimed His glory for all to see and hear.
So in today’s churches and spiritual gatherings, Palm Sunday is a time to look at our spiritual journey and to celebrate the coming of Christ who died for us and our sins so that we may have eternal life by believing in Him.

Lord thank you for Your ultimate sacrifice that brings us eternal life. Please help me to keep Your Holy Spirit in my heart always, Amen.
