The Christmas story is filled with the phrase “fear not.” It’s a recurring theme, spoken by angels to Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds. These words, spoken amidst the extraordinary events surrounding the birth of Jesus, carry a profound message for us today: fear not.
Our world is filled with uncertainty, fear, and anxiety, the Christmas message offers a powerful antidote. It reminds us that we have a Savior, a divine presence who walks with us through life’s twists, turns, trials, tests, and temptations. Just as the angel assured the shepherds, we too can find peace and comfort in the knowledge that God is with us.
The birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, ushered in an era of hope and redemption. His life, death, and resurrection offer us forgiveness, reconciliation, and the promise of eternal life. When we embrace the truth of His love, our fears begin to dissipate, replaced by a sense of peace and security.
This Christmas season, let us reflect on the message of “fear not.” Let us remember that God is with us, always, and that His love for us is unwavering. May we find solace in His presence and experience the peace that surpasses all understanding.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
Hey God, we thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus. In this Christmas season, we pray for peace to fill our hearts and minds. May we give You our fears and trust in Your loving care. Help us to live in the light of Your love and share Your message of hope with others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
